Where are the audio controls?

Open Music & sounds using the speaker button on home or in an activity, or from Settings. Background music, Touch sounds and Completion sound each have their own switch and default on. Previously saved off choices stay off. You can adjust music volume and preview the music or completion sound. Opening these controls during an activity pauses it until you choose Resume.

Why is there no sound?

Audio respects Silent Mode and your media volume. Check both on your iPhone, then try Preview completion in Music & sounds. Enabled background music begins when you open an accessible activity, before the first touch. It does not play while browsing the library or on the purchase screen. Background soundscapes yield to audio from other apps. Check whether sound is routed to headphones or another device.

What is free, and what is Full Library?

Two moments in every state are free, without usage limits. Music, sounds and history are included for everyone. Full Library is one optional purchase for all 16 moments, not a subscription. The app displays your local App Store price before purchase.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings, then Full library, then Restore purchases. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase. Deleting your activity history does not remove the purchase. A fresh installation may need an internet connection to restore it. If a purchase is awaiting approval, free moments remain available.

Why did the activity pause?

Leaving the app, an audio interruption or disconnecting headphones pauses the activity. Tap Resume when you are ready. A hold or drag needs fresh contact; the app does not keep holding on your behalf.

Do I tap or hold?

Soft Breath begins with one tap, with no need to keep your finger down. Other activities use the target, path or hold shown on screen. Wipe Lens counts new cleared areas, not repeated rubbing in one place. Leaving an unfinished activity does not save a completion.

Can I use it with less sound or motion?

Yes. Sound and haptics are optional. The app follows the iPhone's Reduce Motion accessibility preference. Soft Breath uses gradual fill changes instead of expanding shapes in that mode. VoiceOver offers alternative actions; activity audio is suppressed while VoiceOver is active so it does not compete with spoken cues.

Does it work offline?

The activities, audio, history, personal patterns and in-app privacy policy work offline. Buying or restoring Full Library may need a connection to Apple. Opening a website or a research publication needs a connection. Sending support email uses your email service.

Is Back Online guessing how I feel?

No. Suggestions use your previous choices, and optional feedback can highlight a moment you found helpful. They do not detect your current mood or diagnose a condition. A quick breath without choosing a state is not treated as a mood check-in.

How do I delete my history?

Use Settings, then Delete history. This removes saved moments and their feedback while keeping preferences. Apple-managed device backups may retain or restore app data depending on your backup settings. See the privacy policy.

Are these activities clinically proven?

No. Research on breaks, breathing and attention informs the design, but these exact activities and audio have not been clinically validated. Back Online is a general wellbeing app, not medical care, diagnosis or treatment. You can breathe naturally and stop any activity that feels uncomfortable.
